Intermediate Broom Making

WOVEN WHISK AND COB WEB SWEEPER

In this Intermediate workshop, Bethany Ridenour guides students through making a sewn flat woven whisk and a cob web sweeper. Learning to weave, sew and work with a handle are important preparatory steps when developing your broom craft skills. Brooms are used around the world for daily and ritual cleansing of spaces and are an important part of making a safe and sacred space.

In this industrial modern world, handcrafts of all kinds are being replaced by machine made goods. The broom is no exception. It is suggested to have taken Intro to Broom Craft before taking this workshop. All supplies  are provided. Ages 14+.
