Intro to Acrylics: Inspired by the art of Georgia O’Keeffe

In this beginner level class, we will cover basic acrylic painting techniques including color mixing and color theory. By examining the forms and shapes in American artist Georgia O’Keeffe’s works, we will learn to paint in a loose and expressive style, focusing on flowers and landscapes. A survey of the artist’s accomplishments will be covered, and students will learn techniques that will help to break out of stylistic constraints. Experimental techniques will be introduced, and a fun new approach to painting will be the end result. This class is perfect for someone interested in loosing up their style, and developing their understanding of color theory.
